2. Boost -- a C++ library -- "meta-programming"
3. POCO -- a cute C++ library -- should learn more
4. Cross-compiling -- ARM9 -- gcc-toolchain
5. Dealing with DSP (OMAP = ARM9+C6x) -- Linux or FreeRTOS or MakingMyOwnOS -- Linux would be my consideration as underlying OS -- possibly could be extended to TheNewOS :-)

Linux or FreeRTOS?

HUm -- I'm considering FreeRTOS besides Linux

arm-elf-gcc

I'm preparing for playing with OMAP; I think getting familiar with ARM could be very useful. Installing arm-elf-gcc on my MacBook via Macports -- hopefully everything will be just fine.
